DLG to expand its international exhibition network

The German Agricultural Society (DLG) organises specialist trade fairs in the fields of agriculture and the food industry as well as agricultural engineering in Asia, Africa and Latin America. EuroTier South America was held in Brazil for the first time. Further specialist events in Southeast Asia have already been run and are being continued.

For the first time, the German Agricultural Society (DLG), Frankfurt/Main/Germany, has run a specialist trade fair concentrating on livestock in Latin America. EuroTier South America was held in Medianeira/Brazil from the 23rd to the 25th July in cooperation with “AveSui”, the annual meeting point for poultry and pig professionals in South America.

The new “AveSui EuroTier South America” trade fair presented livestock keepers the entire range of products, reaching from the construction of stables and sheds through technology, genetics and services to inputs. In addition to highlighting innovations and technology, the event provided visitors with expertise in keeping livestock and the use of regenerative energies in the context of a specialist programme organised by the DLG.

At “AveSui EuroTier South America”, more than 150 national and international exhibitors presented their offers. Around 16,000 visitors attended the trade fair and took advantage of the specialist programme to acquire further knowledge in their fields of interest. The topics included the development of Brazil as an agricultural market, animal health and biosafety, bioenergy and aquaculture.

Specialists visiting the event took a particular interest in the topics of digitisation in agriculture and Smart Farming. Here, solutions and innovations were above all presented by start-ups.

New events in Southeast Asia complementing AGRITECHNICA ASIA in Bangkok

The organisers of AGRITECHNICA ASIA, the DLG and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, are to introduce two new events for the agricultural sector in Thailand and Myanmar, Southeast Asia, in late 2019. These new activities are part of the strategy for the specialist trade fair AGRITECHNICA ASIA, held in Thailand, in order to offer farmers in this region practical solutions for agriculture. The events “AGRITECHNICA ASIA live – Field Demonstrations of Agricultural Machinery” and “Agrifuture Conference & Exhibition – Prepare yourself for tomorrow’s agri-business” take place close to Myanmar’s capital of Naypyitaw on the 29th and 30th November and in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 2nd and 3rd December, respectively.

Located in Bangkok, AGRITECHNICA ASIA is a successful branch of AGRITECHNICA, the world’s largest agricultural engineering trade fair, which is held on the trade fair premises in Hanover/Germany every two years. AGRITECHNICA ASIA is now entering its third round and has already established itself as a leading platform for agricultural engineering. The event takes place in Bangkok from the 7th to 9th May 2020.

“The two new events in Thailand and Myanmar are conceived as information events on model projects with specialised and technical contents that farmers can virtually view at their doorstep,” explains Jens Kremer, Deputy Managing Director of DLG Service GmbH. “They meet the demand for more specialised knowledge in fields like rice cultivation and mechanisation. AGRITECHNICA ASIA combines these aspects.”
