Climate change will considerably affect the availability of water. In the aridity-struck regions of West Africa, parts of Asia and South America, new and appropriate water management systems have to be developed.  In contrast, glaciers melting in the highlands of Asia and Latin America are causing an increased danger of flooding in the lowlands. Appropriate strategies are also needed to counter this.
