Malaria: Dangerous resistance and new hope

Malaria is a constant threat in many areas around the globe. Successes in the battle against malaria could be rolled back because malarial agents and vectors are developing resistance to the pesticides that have been used. What does this mean in greater detail? What alternatives are being tried out to combat resistant malarial agents and vectors? The available options are suboptimal and increase the pressure on scientists to develop new medicines and insecticides.
