The use of ICTs among rural communities in Africa is increasingly associated with the presence of telecentres Telecentre networks can contribute to knowledge sharing and information exchange and consequently to overall development in African regions. Telecentres can best address development in rural areas of Africa through ICTs. The article describes some of the existing regional telecentre networks established in African regions during the past five years and how these network platforms can contribute positively to national and regional development in African countries.
