New online knowledge platform addresses agricultural water management.
The online knowledge platform Agriwaterpedia (http://agriwaterpedia.info/) was launched at the 2012 World Water Week by the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). The website provides information on approaches and experiences made with agricultural water use and management for food security in a context of climate change, and focuses on the water, energy and food security nexus.
The vision for agriwaterpedia is to facilitate knowledge sharing and communication with practitioners, water, agriculture and energy experts, universities, civil society, the public and the private sector by empowering every person to work cooperatively as one community to seize the opportunity to foster capacity building worldwide.
While the platform is still under development, it offers an insight into the experience and lessons learnt in the context of GIZ. By the end of 2012 the website intends to publish additional texts and other publications no longer accessible to the public.
