IFPRI receives USD 2.5 million grant from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation


The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) has receive a USD 2.5 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to expand and update the Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) database on investment and human capacity trends in agricultural research and development (R&D).
 
The database will focus on sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, where poverty and malnutrition are most acute.
 
The ASTI is a global research and data gathering programme spearheaded by IFPRI on behalf of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
